Jamie Randolph, originally from sunny San Diego, California. Trained extensively all around the southern California area. Including many top rated competitive schools, APA Studios, Eevoke Dance Theater, Malashock Dance Company, Diavolo Dance Company, California Ballet, Jimmy Defore Dance Center, and the California Institute for the Arts (CalArts). During her training Jamie gained the opportunity to work with many great dancers and choreographers such as Cyd Charisse, Two time world champion Irish step dancer Liam Harney. Dein Perry creator of the show Tap Dogs, John Malashock and Jean Isaccs.

During Jamie’s competitive career she won multiple top overalls and titles, most notably being one of the first recipients of a Double Grand Champion; a perfect score in both tap and lyrical divisions at the Youth Focus Tri-State competition. She is also a two time recipient of the California Arts Scholar gold medal, the highest achievement awarded a high school student for performing arts. She was then selected to attend the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) on scholarship two years in a row.

Jamie began transitioning into a professional dance career at 15, when she was asked to be a featured soloist for the Mother Goose Parade Association Anniversary Gala. She then went on to perform in the pre-game and half time show of Super Bowl XXXII. She got her big break when she was chosen as lead soloist for Legend of the Ice Princess at Viejas Casino and Resort. Jamie then went on to perform in shows for Walt Disney World, gaining her Actors Equity union card. From there she took to the high seas performing in shows for Celebrity Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises.

Jamie now enjoys turning her talents to working behind the curtain. She has been awarded several overall titles and choreography awards for her Tap and Musical Theater routines. Jamie has also received awards for costume designs that she makes with her mother and sister’s company, aptly named Glitter Couture.

Jamie is happy to bring her talents to the team at Studio A.

This is Studio A

For nearly 20 years, Studio A Dance Co. has been a leader in dance education in the Quad Cities. With a state of the art, 16,000 square foot facility, a top notch faculty, and limited class sizes, Studio A provides a safe, inspiring environment for kids to learn and create.

Studio A Dance Co. is home to an incredible faculty which includes credits such as the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana B.A. of Dance Program, University of Arizona B.A of Dance Program, Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive, Northwestern University Summer Intensive, Captain of the University of Iowa Dance Team, Member of the nationally ranked Iowa State Dance Team, UDA Instructor. The Studio A faculty has over 200 combined years of performing and teaching experience, ensuring a consistent, professional, and positive experience.

Studio A prides itself on its family friendly atmosphere. We strive to instill values and discipline in a fun and safe environment where students can express themselves through dance. We encourage dancers to find what gifts they have as an individual, as well as what they can achieve as a team.

Dancers at the studio are able to excel in the areas of Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Contemporary, through weekly classes. All classes have age appropriate material and music, and are geared towards correct technical placement and expression. We hope you will join us!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Combo Classes ages 3-4 will be required to purchase one recital costume, a ballet.

    Combo Classes Ages 5 and Up will be required to purchase 1 recital costume but will perform two routines in our recital, a jazz and a ballet.

    Each hip hop class will have one recital costume

    Each Teen Class will have one recital costume.

    Costumes have an average cost of $70 each. This will be the only required additional cost for the year.

    Studio A does not have a recital fee, however, recital tickets do need to be purchased for $15 each.

  • Please check your email and our facebook page for any weather cancellations. Please know that we absolutely love teaching your kids and having to cancel class is frustrating to us as a studio. However, the safety of our families and staff has to be a priority and when weather causes unsafe conditions, sometimes we have to make that difficult decision to close.Unfortunately, cancelations for weather are just part of living in Iowa.There will be no refunds for classes missed due to weather. Please remember that your tuition payments go toward not only your dance classes, but to many other things that allow us to make Studio A a great experience. We thank you for your understanding and your trust in us that we will only close when absolutely necessary.

  • We greatly appreciate a call to let us know if your dancer will not be attending class. As a result of COVID, make up classes will not be permitted in an effort to keep the mixing of students to a minimum. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Studio A requires one month's notice of class cancellation. To cancel, please send a drop request via your parent portal. Cancellations will not be taken over the phone or in person, only online.
